Breast Implant Surgery
A breast augmentation surgery can make a profound difference in a womans life, young and old alike. We routinely see our patients with a renewed self confidence after receiving breast implants. It opens up a whole new outlook on themselves and a heightened self esteem. They come into our office acting shy, dressed conservative, nervous and unsure. Two weeks later (post breast augmentation) an amazing transformation has taken place. They have a stylish new wardrobe, a new tan, hairstyle, a huge smile and an attitude to go with it all. It is truly amazing what confidence and youthfulness breast implant surgery reveals within our patients.
The complete opposite can be said of women who have had the misfortune of having had a bad breast augmentation. They either fall prey to a seemingly great deal on breast implants surgery performed by an inexperienced surgeon or they simply have a difficult anatomy and healing process which presents a problem which only a highly skilled and experienced plastic surgeon can solve. There are a great many decisions to make when undergoing breast augmentation surgery, and the only way to ensure the best possible outcome is to educate yourself as much as possible before following through with the breast enlargement. One way to do this is to research and read the wealth of information on the internet. The other way is to meet with a board certified plastic surgeon such as Dr. Pasquale and ask questions.
Which Breast Implant Incision is the best?
Does your plastic surgeon offer multiple approaches for placing the breast implants (periareolar, axillary, inframammary, perithelial) and if so, does he perform these particular surgeries on a relatively regular basis? Does he have before and after pictures of each type made available for you to look at? If he is suggesting a certain approach for you, then what are the reasons? Some plastic and cosmetic surgeons perform one type of approach the majority of the time and are able to convince each and every one of their patients that this particular placement is the best for them. It is also important to recognize the marketing hype surrounding some surgeries. Wether it is a price that is too good to be true, or a surgery promising a scarless result or immediate recovery with no downtime, it is imperative that you know the facts beyond the hard sell.
Dr. Pasquale is a board certified reconstructive surgeon as well as plastic surgeon which has given him the ability to analyze and solve most any problem a patient may have in regards to breast complications - assymetry, capsular contracture, double bubble, symmastia and other breast deformities. Dr. Pasquale has had great success as a breast revision surgery specialist, correcting deformities and solving problems that had plagued many patients and their previous surgeons. What About Recovery?
After breast implant surgery patients recover in our surgical suite a minimum of two hours with a licensed registered nurse when they are able to be driven home by a friend or spouse. Normally the first night after surgery is the most difficult but proper pain medication is prescribed before hand so that you are very comforable. Over the following days the pain decreases in favor of small aches. Almost everyone heals differently and reacts differently to surgery as your body takes time to adjust to having larger breasts. All post operative instructions are given before and after your surgery to ensure an acceptable result. Normal activities can be resumed generally after 10-14 days.
